Jenx and Jiraffe set to raise £10,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
We’re pleased to announce that we’re on our way to raising the equivalent of £10,000 for our Charity of the Year, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The team have already made contributions totalling £8,500 for Bluebell Wood during the partnership, through volunteering and equipment donations, along with additional fundraising activities including internal raffles and snack stations.
Since the partnership began in January 2019, employees at both Jenx and Jiraffe have provided a total of 260 volunteering hours at Bluebell Wood – equivalent to £2,134 saved by the charity on labour costs.
Most recently, four members of the design and production teams successfully completed a 15,000 ft. sponsored skydive, raising almost £2,200 for the North Anston-based hospice.
Employees from across the businesses have also raised the equivalent of £1,560 for the ‘Bag it up for Bluebell’ campaign, where we have donated bags of clothes, toys and other items – estimated to be worth around £15 each – which were then sorted and distributed to Bluebell Wood retail stores.
We have also donated more than £2,500 of our postural equipment to the hospice for children with disabilities, in order to enhance therapy sessions.
Jenx have been researching, designing and manufacturing ground-breaking developmental postural equipment to support children with specific postural needs since 1982.
Holly Jenkins, Jiraffe Divisional Director said: “As a company with children at the very core of our mission, Bluebell Wood is a charity close to our hearts and we are thrilled to have been able to help support the exceptional care they provide.
“Our aim is to help children with special postural needs to live happy and fulfilling lives – an ethos that Bluebell Wood share with us.”
Gemma Robinson, Corporate Volunteer Co-ordinator at Bluebell Wood said:
“Without the support of our volunteers like the team at Jenx and Jiraffe, we would not be able to carry out the work that we do here. The 6.5 acres of grounds that we have is another place for our amazing families to spend some quality time when they stay with us.
“We would like to thank those who helped with the gardening as it is one of the main tasks here at the hospice. It so important that we keep on top of everything to make our families stays as enjoyable as it can be, giving them a peaceful place to spend some quality time.”
