Introducing Mason
This blog is introducing a lovely little boy called Mason. Mason has Cerebral Palsy with total body involvement which developed following a bout of Meningitis. He also has additional vision and hearing impairments. Mason has a marked degree of postural asymmetry and so he uses the Bee seating system and the Dreama 24hr postural support system to try and address this problem.
Mason is using the seating system through the day and the sleeping system throughout the night. This has proved very successful as they contribute very well to his 24hr postural management as he has support throughout the day and night. They are also very much helping prevent the development of contracture and deformities.
A huge benefit of the Bee chair is that it has a useful rise and fall function which makes it a lot safer for manual handling and this in turn makes it better for whoever the care giver is. After trialling these two products, Mason became a lot easier to handle and he was much happier, so as far as the family and his therapist are concerned, they have a been a big success.
